COMPLIMENTARY CONNECT CALL

30 mins.

This free, no-obligation conversation is chance to talk through your goals, ask questions, and get clarity on how coaching could support you. It’s not a coaching session, and we won’t be unpacking everything or making plans yet — just making sure this feels like the right fit for us both before taking any next steps.

Completing a complimentary Connect Call is required before selecting your coaching pathway.

‍ ‍Where real change begins

This is your first step toward sustainable health changes, where we gently explore the food, lifestyle, and life patterns that keep you caught in cycles of dependence with sugar and ultra-processed foods. This short 3-session pathway is designed to kickstart change and help things begin to settle — with the option to continue into longer-term support if that feels helpful for you. You’ll finish feeling clearer, empowered, and supported with practical next steps.

  • 1 x 75 min deep-dive session to explore your goals and define your direction, followed by:

  • 2 x 60-minute personalised sessions to support your momentum and meaningful, sustainable change.

  • Over 3-6 weeks (weekly or fortnightly - your choice!)

  • Online via Zoom, (in-person by negotiation)

  • Relevant tools, resources and information

  • Accountability - optional weekly check-in via phone/text/WhatsApp

  • Includes a complimentary 15-minute follow-up session, 2–3 weeks after your coaching ends, to check in and support your progress.

Can only be booked after the initial 30 min Complimentary Connect Call.

Drive your progress forward with purpose.

With more sessions across a longer timeframe, you'll benefit from deeper insight, stronger accountability, and ongoing adjustments that best fit with your goals and lifestyle. This 8-session programme is about building momentum while reducing stop-start cycles, strengthening follow-through, and turning new behaviours into reliable habits - the foundations for long-term success.

  • 1 x 75 min deep-dive session to explore your key wellness goals and define your direction, followed by:

  • 7 x 60-minute personalised sessions - tailored to your key goal, and all on your agenda.

  • Over 8-16 weeks (weekly or fortnightly - your choice!)

  • Online via Zoom, (in-person by negotiation)

  • All other benefits of the Starting Point pathway - but over a longer period to keep your momentum going.

Can only be booked after the initial 30 min Complimentary Connect Call.

FOLLOW-ON
SESSIONS

45 mins.

Follow-on sessions provide on-going support to reflect on your progress over time, and stay connected to the changes you’ve already put in place. It’s also a chance to address any new challenges that have come up for you, and to reset where necessary.

  • Miriam’s deeply empathetic presence creates a safe and comfortable space to open up and share. She walks beside you with kindness, wisdom, and professionalism, always without judgment. With her support, I discovered clarity and the confidence to take my next positive steps forward.

    - Vicki B

  • Miriam’s coaching is amazing.  She dived right into my topics with me, with curiosity and kindness, and helped me find the way through by diving deep into my values, my strengths and the evidence-based science of metabolic and mental health.  I have been struggling with sugar in my life and relying on this for energy, especially in the afternoons and evenings, and Miriam helped me understand how dopamine and my stress play a role in this, and the what I can do to help myself.  As well as the serious stuff, we had so much fun, and I genuinely left every session feeling confident and empowered, not with another list of things I had to do.  I would recommend Miriam to anyone looking for help with the challenges of food, mood, and cravings in our fast-paced lives.

    - Sally. A reformed sweet tooth and post-cancer thriver

  • Working with Miriam has been an absolute gift. Her coaching style is incredibly kind, patient and deeply compassionate.  I felt seen and heard from our very first session. Miriam creates a rare kind of space where you feel safe to reflect without any fear of judgment. While she is a wonderful champion and constant source of encouragement, she also knew exactly how to challenge my perspective in a calm, reassuring way. I walked away not just feeling supported, but equipped with practical tools that I continue to use every day. I’m so grateful for her time and her unwavering belief in my potential!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My primary focus is 1-1 personalised health coaching sessions with you, in which you’ll explore a range of solutions designed to meet your needs—whether you're just getting started on your health journey or you’re needing follow-on support to maintain your success. Everything is tailored to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through my email or the contact form, or schedule a complimentary Connect Call here on my website. I’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

  • What makes my approach different is that there are no pre-determined plans or rigid rules - you set the agenda, and we work with what feels most important in your real life. I take a holistic, evidence-informed view of cravings, seeing them not as a personal failure, but as patterns shaped by our biology, stress, and environment. Having successfully overcome my own ‘sweet tooth’, I support you with empathy and zero shame so you can create meaningful, sustainable change at your own pace.

  • You can reach me anytime via my contact page or email. I aim to respond quickly, usually within one business day. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Health coaching isn’t prescriptive or rule-based - you stay in control. I support you to make informed, realistic choices that fit your lifestyle, values, and goals. You drive the bus; I just help you get to your destination, choosing the path that’s right for you.

  • Food often becomes a coping tool when life feels overwhelming. My scope of practice is to support people with mild to moderate mental wellness challenges - if this is you, we can gently explore other ways to help you feel steadier and supported without taking comfort away before you’re ready. If you feel you need a higher level of more targeted support for your current mental wellness, we can have a chat about whether you may like to consider seeing a qualified mental health professional, either instead of, or alongside health coaching.

  • You don’t have to. The focus is on awareness, patterns, and feeling better — not numbers, rules, or restrictions.

  • You’re not alone…. and there’s no judgement here. This is a safe, supportive space to share as much or little as you feel comfortable with, and to be honest and curious about your challenge, not to feel criticised or ‘fixed’.

  • Many approaches focus on food ‘rules’, whereas I help you unpack why you eat the way you do and what your body actually needs, as well as helping you identify behaviours around food that you’d like to change. That’s where real, lasting change happens.

  • I’m a certified Master Health Coach trained through PreKure, a leading provider of evidence-based health and lifestyle medicine education, both in New Zealand and overseas. I work strictly within a clear Scope of Practice, focusing on lifestyle and behaviour change rather than diagnosis or treatment. I’m also a current, professional member of Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association (HCANZA), which requires annual membership, adherence to ethical standards, and ongoing professional learning and development, so you can feel confident you’re working with a qualified, ethical, and evidence-informed health coach.

  • Your privacy is paramount to me!

I collect only what’s necessary to support our work together, such as your name, contact details, and a brief record of our sessions. I don’t keep unnecessary personal or medical information, and I don’t record sessions without your prior written consent.

Your information is stored securely using password-protected systems, and access is limited to only me. Draft notes that aren’t needed are deleted.

Any relevant personal or health information you choose to share is kept confidential and stored securely in accordance with the Health Information Privacy Code 2020 and the Privacy Act 2020.

There is one exception: if I have reasonable grounds to believe there is a serious threat to your life, health, or safety, or to the safety of another person, I may share relevant information with an appropriate agency (such as emergency services) to prevent or lessen that threat, as permitted under Rule 11 of the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. Where safe and practical to do so, I will always speak with you first before taking this step.

Under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020, you also have the right to request access to your information at any time. If you ever have questions about how your information is managed, I’m always happy to talk.
