Welcome to Choice Point
That moment you reach for sugar, snacks, or junk food….that’s not a failure, it’s your body trying to tell you something!
At Choice Point, I help you to slow down those moments to explore and understand why they keep happening, and how to gently shift them.
Through simple, evidence-based food, lifestyle, mindset and behaviour changes, I can help you release your dependence on junk food and the cycles that keep cravings in charge, so you can restore a sense of calm confidence around food.
Your Health.
Your Choice.
Your Change.
Your Health. Your Choice. Your Change.
What is Choice Point Health Coaching?
When was the last time you noticed a food craving, paused, and simply felt curious about it?
I help you work with that curiosity to notice what your body is asking for and how to respond with compassion and intention.
The philosophy behind Choice Point Health Coaching is grounded in science-based health principles and behaviour-change psychology. Inspired by tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a choice point is the moment where you stop to consider your next move. Think of it as a fork in the road: will it take you toward your values, your goals, and the person you want to be OR will you choose the path that takes you away from these things and keeps you stuck in habits that don’t serve you well?
This isn’t about perfection, blame, guilt or what’s ‘right or wrong’; it’s about making realistic, values-aligned choices that support your holistic wellbeing, so you can be the best version of yourself.
Who this IS for:
You feel stuck in cycles of sugar or food cravings you can’t seem to break.
You turn to junk food for comfort, stress relief, or a boost.
You’d like to better manage your blood sugar and insulin levels.
You’re ready for a calmer, more sustainable way forward with food and are willing to make some important changes to achieve your goal.
Who this is NOT for:
You’re looking for a strict meal plan.
You want rapid weight loss without behaviour change.
You’re seeking medical diagnosis or prescription advice.
You’re not ready to consider your relationship with food, or make a change.
You want someone to tell you what to do and how to do it, rather than take ownership of your own health journey.
Let’s figure this out together!
The Foundations Behind Your Choice Points
1. Nervous System Regulation & Safety
Nervous system support is a key player in how I help you shift from impulsive coping to steady, grounded decision-making around food. When your nervous system is overloaded, your brain prioritises quick energy and comfort, which can show up as strong cravings for sugar and junk foods. By helping you build regulation skills, we support your nervous system to move out of stress and urgency, so food decisions feel calmer and more intentional.
2. Fuel & Metabolic Stability
When blood glucose rises and crashes repeatedly, it can drive hunger, irritability, brain fog, and intense urges for quick carbohydrates; creating a cycle that feels hard to escape. In reality, your body is just trying hard to correct an energy imbalance. By supporting your metabolism, we help your body feel safe, balanced, nourished, and less driven by urgent cravings throughout the day.
3. Mindset, Mood & Mental Health
This foundation is about understanding the food–mood connection, and building your own ‘toolbox’ to help you respond to emotions without relying on food for relief. Your thoughts, stress patterns, self-talk, and emotional load can all influence your food choices. We can work with these things using practical, evidence-based tools to create space between your feelings and how you react. This helps you respond to stress, boredom, or low mood with intention, not impulse.
4. Food Environment & Habits
Much of our eating is automatic; driven by cues, convenience, visibility, and habit loops rather than conscious decision-making. By making small changes to your surroundings and routines, we can reduce impulsive actions around food as well as decision fatigue around what to eat for the best - making healthier food choices feel easier.
5. Movement That Supports Energy
Using gentle, realistic movement to improve energy, insulin sensitivity, and mood — not punish your body. Movement is a powerful metabolic signal that helps your body use glucose more efficiently, stabilise insulin, and support steady energy throughout the day. Even small amounts of consistent movement can improve mood chemistry, reduce stress load, and reduce cravings by improving how your body processes the ‘fuel’ you’re providing it.
6. Rest, Sleep, Recovery & Connection
Poor sleep and chronic depletion can lower our stress tolerance, increase cortisol, and disrupt hunger and satiety hormone signalling….which can all intensify sugar cravings - because tired bodies crave ‘fast fuel’. Prioritising rest and sleep can promote hormone balance and metabolic health, and build emotional resilience. True recovery also includes social connection - feeling supported and connected to others can reduce stress load and strengthen your capacity to experience joy, and to heal.
Choose the support that matches your goals.
Hello,
I’m Miriam
I’m so glad you’re here!
If you’re tired of feeling like food is the problem, I hear you. Imagine having the tools to help overcome the never-ending cycle of sweet, high carb, junk foods that keep you hooked and sap your energy — and your health!
I work with people of all ages who are ready to change the eating and lifestyle patterns that keep them stuck. Together, we create a steadier, more sustainable way of eating that reduces reliance on addictive, ultra-processed foods so real change finally sticks. With the right support, you absolutely CAN make health-forward food and lifestyle changes that fit your everyday life.
Together, let’s change your pattern. We’ll start where you are, and build from there.
How We Work Together:
Working with me means starting exactly where you are.
Sessions usually blend reflection, practical guidance, and simple next steps, so you leave feeling that you’ve achieved the outcome you wanted from the session, and confident about what to focus on before we meet again.
Why Weight Loss Isn’t Always the First Focus
It’s understandable to focus on weight, especially if you’ve been trying to manage it for years. But weight is often a signal, not the root issue. When blood sugar is unstable, stress is high, sleep is disrupted, or cravings feel relentless, your body is simply trying to cope so it holds on rather than letting go. Together, we can help your body to cope better by creating steadiness, nourishing you well, calming your nervous system, and reducing the pull of ultra-processed foods. As your body feels safer and more balanced, weight can shift naturally - without pressure or another exhausting cycle.
My role is to guide the conversation, offer education and tools when they support your goals, keep you accountable, and help you notice what’s working. Change is led by your own lived experience, not by rules or a prescriptive way for how you should do things.
PLEASE NOTE: Health coaching complements medical care and does not replace advice from your GP or other health provider.
Let’s get started
01.
Book a Free 30 min Connect Call
We start with a relaxed, no-obligation conversation to explore what’s been going on for you; eg, food cravings, energy dips, feeling stuck around food. This call is not a coaching session and we won’t be exploring your situation in depth or planning next steps; rather, it’s a chance for you to be heard, ask questions, and see whether working together feels like the right fit for us both.
02.
Choose Your Path Forward
After your Connect Call, choose the level of support that gives you the best chance of real, lasting change—whether you’re ready for a short reset (Starting Point), some stronger momentum (Turning Point), or deeper, long-term change (Mastery Point).
03.
Commit to the Process
(with Support)
This is where change happens. You show up to each session, curious, open, and willing to try small, realistic shifts. I show up fully too; gently guiding the sessions, offering evidence-based insights and tools, and supporting you to stay focused, encouraged, accountable and moving forward in a way that fits your lifestyle.

My scope of practice is to support people with mild to moderate mental wellness challenges - if this is you, we can gently explore ways to help you feel steadier and supported without taking comfort away before you’re ready. If you feel you need a higher level of more targeted support for your current mental wellness, we can have a chat about whether you may like to consider seeing a qualified mental health professional, either instead of, or alongside health coaching.
-
You don’t have to. The focus is on awareness, habits and patterns, and feeling better — not numbers, rules, or restrictions.
-
You’re not alone…. and there’s no judgement here. This is a safe, supportive space to share as much or little as you feel comfortable with, and to be honest and curious about your challenge, not to feel criticised or ‘fixed’.

Many approaches focus on food ‘rules’, whereas I help you unpack the challenges you’re experiencing with food and what your body actually needs, as well as helping you identify behaviours around food that you’d like to change. That’s where things can really start to shift.
